Jorge Masvidal and Ben Askren appear on a collision course to fight.

That’s the plan according to Dana White, and Askren is fully in agreement. It was thought ‘Funky’ would rematch Robbie Lawler after his controversial submission win over ‘Ruthless’ in his UFC debut at UFC 235. However, the UFC appears to have changed course and gone a different direction with the two popular welterweights.

It also seemed that Masvidal may be matched up with rising contender Leon Edwards after he hit ‘Rocky’ with his infamous ‘three-piece and a soda’ backstage at UFC London. That fight is apparently on ice for now as well due to the UFC being fixated on Masvidal vs. Askren.

‘Gamebred’ is ready for it, too, as he released a video calling out both Askren and Edwards today. In it, he claimed Askren was ‘scared’ when they met at the fighter hotel in London. According to Masvidal that’s a good thing, as he would have been slapped if he had gotten disrespectful Check it out via Ariel Helwani:

“I got these two little sluts, one’s from England, one’s from some suburb calling me out. One’s not in the Top 10 and the other one that is hasn’t got a victory in the UFC, didn’t make the dude tap, didn’t put him to sleep, but you think you have a win in the UFC.

“Who are you fooling? You can fool the crowd but you can’t fool me, playboy. When I seen you in the hotel, what did you do? You ran away like a little bitch. I was ready to slap you up if you said anything disrespectful. What do I care to fight you or the other guy? I’ll let my management decide, you can keep hitting’ me up all you want though. You little sluts.”

Askren soon issued a response claiming that the hotel story was a lie. He claimed he had many witnesses who could verify that, and that Masvidal was ‘scared’ to sign a fight contract:

The heat between these two top 170-pound talents is only smoldering more by the day. Askren says Masvidal is unwilling to fight him, but it would seem the bout is a mere eventuality at this point.

Who’s your pick to emerge with the victory if they do fight?
