Liam Teruel barely gave Will Dermietzel time to settle in at BKB 57, ending their bare-knuckle bout by knockout just 22 seconds into the opening round. The finish came on July 25 at Indigo at The O2 in London, where BKB staged its 57th event. Teruel and Dermietzel were part of an action-heavy card filled with early stoppages, but their contest was among the quickest of the night. Official bout records list Teruel as the winner by first-round KO at the 0:22 mark, moving him to 3-0 while Dermietzel dropped to 2-2.

BKB’s footage of the ending shows how quickly the fight changed. Teruel pressed the action immediately, landed clean, and Dermietzel was unable to continue after the early exchange. There was no prolonged feeling-out period and no need for a second round; Teruel turned a short opening into a highlight-reel finish.
The result was a sharp reversal of fortune for Dermietzel, the Worcester fighter known as “The Gentleman.” He had earned two stoppage wins in his first two BKB appearances, including a first-round TKO over Jordan Tompkins at BKB 45. Dermietzel then lost a unanimous decision to Tom Pratt at BKB 51 before meeting Teruel in London.
Teruel’s win landed during a card that produced several first-round conclusions. Mick Terrill stopped Florian De La Motte in 1:41, Amado Vargas knocked out James Springer in 2:09, Aaron Chalmers stopped Jack Fincham in 1:08, and Lee Spencer finished Braidie Harkett in 27 seconds. Martin Reffell also recorded a 41-second KO over Liam Howell Swaney.
Some post-event reports listed the Teruel-Dermietzel stoppage at 25 seconds, while the official result database records it at 22 seconds. The difference does not change the headline: Teruel closed the show almost as soon as it began.
