UFC officials confirmed tonight (August 17, 2015) that top middleweight contenders Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza and Yoel Romero will meet in the octagon at UFC 194.

The UFC attempted to make this happen as they booked the two men against each at UFC 184 and then at UFC on FOX 15, but the fight never took place due to injuries appearing.

Souza is currently on an eight-fight winning streak. He has finished five out of his last six fights, four coming by submission and one coming by knockout. Souza is fresh off a win over Chris Camozzi at UFC on FOX 15.

Romero is coming off a win over Lyoto Machida on June 27, 2015, at UFC Fight Night 70 when he knocked out Machida at 1:38 of the third round with a series of elbows from top position.

UFC 194 takes place on December 12th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The main event of this event will be UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo vs. Conor McGregor for the featherweight championship.
