Ikram Aliskerov Puts On Grappling Clinic Against Brunno Ferreira At UFC Baku
Ikram Aliskerov continued his steady climb up the middleweight ranks with another commanding performance at UFC Baku.
The Russian standout relied on his well-rounded skill set to outclass dangerous finisher Brunno Ferreira over three rounds, cruising to a unanimous decision victory.
Aliskerov set the tone early by pressing forward and mixing his striking with timely takedowns. After a brief pause in the opening round due to an accidental low blow, he quickly regained momentum, landing a sharp knee before dragging Ferreira to the mat and controlling the remainder of the frame.
The No. 14-ranked middleweight contender repeatedly put Ferreira on his back and threatened with submissions while maintaining dominant positions. Although the Brazilian briefly scrambled to his feet, Aliskerov’s grappling proved too much to handle as he continued dictating where the fight took place.
Needing a finish entering the final round, Ferreira came out aggressively, but Aliskerov never allowed him to build any momentum. The Russian countered with clean straight punches before securing another takedown midway through the frame and controlling the action until the final horn.
All three judges awarded the contest to Aliskerov by identical 30-27 scorecards.
The victory marks Ikram Aliskerov’s third consecutive win since his knockout loss to former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker at UFC Saudi Arabia in June 2024. The 32-year-old now improves to 5-1 in the UFC and 18-2 overall.
