Future UFC Lightweight George Hardwick had a ‘MUST SEE’ Walkout of The Year Contender

George Hardwick

Everyone loves an iconic walkout and 2025 has produced some top entries but it may have received the best yet at Cage Warriors 193.

Former Cage Warriors champion George Hardwick returned to the cage after losing his belt in a gruelling title fight back in March. The man from Middlesborough had defended his belt three times prior to his defeat in London. Back in 2022 he won the belt with a vicious body shot TKO and the brutality continued with another body shot finish in his first defence against veteran Chris Bungard followed by a first round TKO over then 9-1 prospect Yann Liasse.

This form earned a Dana White’s Contender Series fight in August 2023. Adjudged to be a harsh decision as many fans felt Hardwick could have jumped straight into the UFC. The fight ended disappointingly as the Englishman suffered a decision defeat to Abdul -Kareem Al-Selwady. A brutal broken jaw injury suffered in training kept Hardwick out until September 2024 where he returned to another successful defence.

An opponent change was not stopping the return of the 28 year old and tough Brazilian Nonato Junior stepped into the main event at Cage Warriors 193.

George Hardwick’s Unbelievable Walkout

If you had a thousand guesses you would still not get this walkout tune.

A truly unique walkout loved by many fans. Post fight, Hardwick revealed the idea came from watching High School Musical in fight camp and teases other songs from the films could feature on his next cage appearance.

It is abundantly clear Hardwick has heaps of ability and personality which is a brilliant medley to get into the UFC. The jaw injury last year really frustrated Hardwick and he wants to remain active eyeing a return in December. The likelihood is that will be in the Cage Warriors yellow gloves but if opportunity knocks who would begrudge a chance on the big show.

The surname may ring a bell as recently at UFC Paris his older brother Harry Hardwick made his UFC debut on very short notice up a weight class against Kaûe Fernandes. Unfortunately, it ended gruesomely with Hardwick leaving the octagon in a wheelchair after a barrage of vicious leg kicks.

When George Hardwick gets the UFC call who would you like to see him debut against?
