Dan Hooker Struggled to Trash Talk Benoit Saint Denis: “He’s the nicest bloke”

UFC veteran Dan Hooker has admitted that he actually quite likes Benoit Saint Denis ahead of their showdown this weekend.

At UFC 325, Dan Hooker will make a quick turnaround following his loss to Arman Tsarukyan as he prepares to get in there and compete against Benoit Saint Denis. While Hooker is attempting to prove he can still compete at the elite level, BSD will want to make a real statement as he attempts to make a case for a future world championship opportunity.

Dan Hooker, as we know, isn’t afraid to talk a bit of trash to his opponents, as we saw with Tsarukyan, and as we’ve seen in his ongoing rivalry with Paddy Pimblett.

As it turns out, though, Dan Hooker is struggling to have that kind of back and forth with his upcoming opponent Benoit Saint Denis.

Dan Hooker on Benoit Saint Denis

“BSD, man, credit to him for taking the fight really. I met the guy yesterday and you know me, I don’t mind a bit of back and forth, I don’t mind a bit of trash talk, but trying to trash talk this bloke is like trying to trash talk a boot. He’s the nicest bloke. He just said, ‘Thank you for taking the fight.’

“And man, to be honest, thank him for coming all the way down here. I knew I’d have to fight down in the rankings, but to get a guy that’s ranked a couple spots lower on a big win streak, coming off a big win, and to get him to travel to the other side of the world… it’s very difficult to get fighters to accept the challenge of that and to travel that far. So yeah, just thankful that we get to share this opportunity together.”
