Conor McGregor Alleges Khabib Nurmagomedov Scammed Fans Using His Late Father’s Legacy To Push Papakha NFTs Worth $4.4 Million

Conor McGregor has ended his break from social media, and the first man in his crosshairs is his longtime nemesis, Khabib Nurmagomedov. McGregor and Nurmagomedov share one of the most polarizing and discussed rivalries in combat sports, a feud that has delivered no shortage of tension over the years.

Although the pair collided inside the Octagon at UFC 229 in October 2018, where “The Eagle” emerged victorious, more than seven years later, the tension still refuses to fade. The feud remains alive from both sides, persistently fueled by verbal jabs.

“The Notorious” revealed last month that he was embarking on a spiritual journey to prepare for his return to the Octagon, stepping back from social media and even deactivating his Instagram. A few days ago, the former two-division UFC champion returned on X, and he has already taken the chance to throw some serious shade at Nurmagomedov.

For context, the UFC Hall of Famer recently announced the launch of traditional Dagestani papakha hats alongside a new wave of digital collectibles, including NFTs, through an exclusive Telegram drop. However, on Wednesday, popular MMA account Dovy claimed that Nurmagomedov quietly removed all posts linked to the NFT rollout across his social media platforms, apparently after pulling in an eye-popping $4.4 million in profits.

At the time of writing, no official statement from “The Eagle” or his team has surfaced regarding the accusations.

Conor McGregor Accuses Khabib Nurmagomedov Cashed In On Papakha NFTs

Conor McGregor was quick to seize the moment, wasting no time in taking shots at Khabib Nurmagomedov. The Irish star turned to social media, accusing “The Eagle” of leveraging his late father Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov’s legacy to fuel an alleged pump-and-dump style scheme aimed at his own supporters.

“There is just no way good guy Khabib used his late father’s name, as well as Dagestan’s culture, to scam his fans and fire sell a bunch of digital NFTs online and then delete all of the content after they were sold, leaving his fans robbed of their money? There is just no way a good guy does this,” Conor McGregor wrote on X.

“The Notorious” carried the narrative forward in a separate tweet, drawing comparisons between Nurmagomedov and his longtime ally, the newly crowned UFC welterweight champion Islam Makhachev.

“What a shame and a stain on his father’s name. Just wow! To scam fans using his father and his country’s culture is just so low. Father’s plan has now become Father’s scam. Very sad. On the opposite side of this, it was Great to see Islam Mack honour his own father by putting the double world titles on his shoulders and saying, “There aren’t many fathers of double world champions!” Truth.”
