BKFC’s Parker Porter on “radio silence” with $25 million tournament: “I’m hoping it’s still going to happen”

Parker Porter is focused on his headlining clash at BKFC Fight Night Mohegan Sun this weekend against Anthony Garrett. But there are some massive options that could await him after December 20th if he secures his ideal outcome.

Entering the fight as a ranked heavyweight, when asked if he thinks this fight could behoove his title shot aspirations to potentially clash with the winner of the BKFC KnuckleMania 6 heavyweight title clash between champ Ben Rothwell and Andrei Arlovski, Porter said [via Bare Knuckle Bowker],

“I would say so and I would hope so.You know, I could see with an emphatic win, I could totally see a title fight between me and Ben [Rothwell or Andrei Arlovski, potentially] coming up in the next year.”

There have also been talks from the promotion of a big $25 million tournament, and when asked if he had even a peripheral focus on that grand prix or if it’s just tantamount to outside noise, Porter stated [via Bare Knuckle Bowker],

“I would love to punch my ticket into that tournament, you know, like nothing with that tournament right now has been guaranteed. So it’s always just kind of a background noise situation for me and I’m just focused on the fight in front of me first. But, you know, I would 100% love to be jumping into that tournament. I just haven’t heard much more noise about it from anybody in the recent months.”

BKFC is “definitely working on making it happen” with 25 million dollar tournament, per porter

As the ranked BKFC heavyweight and ex-UFC vet kept expounding upon his uncertainties regarding that 25 million dollar tournament transpiring, Porter continued [via Bare Knuckle Bowker],

“There was a really big announcement about it and how they signed a couple of other big names. They were going to do this and do that. Then it just kind of feels like everything’s been sort of radio silence for the last month or two about that and nobody’s heard anything more.”

“So, I’m hoping it’s still going to happen and, if I know the guys at the BKFC, they’re definitely working on making it happen. I would love to throw my hat in the ring for that because I think it’s just an amazing opportunity to be a part of combat sports history.”
