Bellator Dynamite 2 Results: Quinton Jackson Edges Out Satoshi Ishii

It’s once again fight day here at LowKickMMA, and the talent on display tonight (Friday, June 24th, 2016) will come in the form of Bellator: Dynamite 2. Headlining the card are Quinton Jackson and Satoshi Ishii, but there’s a whole bunch of great fights also taking place on the rest of the main card.

Satoshi Ishii and Quinton Jackson met in a light heavyweight in the main event of Bellator: Dynamite 2. Not the best fight you will ever see, but it was solid. In round 1, Jackson presses him early. Jackson clinched with him after being frustrated. He puts him on the fence and Ishii took him down with a single leg trip. Ishii worked for a kimura but let it go. Jackson got up but was taken right back down. Ishii ended up in side control. Jackson got to his feet at the end of the round and landed some knees while in the clinch. In round 2, Jackson came out quick and landed some strikes. Ishii took him down again, though. Jackson got up, and they clinched throughout the round. Not too much action from either man. In round 3, Jackson was upset through the entire fight because Ishii would not engage with him. Ishii clinched and pressed him up against the fence. Jackson landed some knees to the body while in the clinch. Jackson got the split decision victory. Jackson thought that ring rust hurt him in this fight but vowed to come back better than ever.

After the fight, Chandler jumps on the cage near Patricio Freire, Patricky’s brother. The two have words. Chandler makes the throat slash motion.

Ilima MacFarlane and Rebecca Ruth met in a women’s flyweight bout. After a lackluster first round, the finish of the fight was solid. In round 1, Macfarlane shot in for a double takedown, but Ruth stuffed it. Macfarlane took her down for a moment, but Ruth got back to her feet. Macfarlane presses her up against the fence and lands some good shots. Ruth landed some elbows while in this position. Not a ton of action. In round 2, Macfarlane took her down and got her back. Opening the Bellator: Dynamite 2 main card on Spike TV was Matt Mitrione vs Carl Seumanutafa in a heavyweight bout. This one could have turned out bad for Mitrione’s Bellator MMA debut. Seumanutafa dropped him with a right hook and Seumanutafa swarmed him with strikes. Seumanutafa took his back. Mitrione transitioned to top control in guard. Mitrione landed some good shots from the top. Mitrione stood up and went for a flying strike and finished him with it in the very first round.
