Two women’s bantamweight competitors did battle from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee for UFC Fight Night 73. Former Olympian Sara McMann (8-3) took on Amanda Nunes (11-4) on Aug. 8, 2015.

It was the “Lioness” who earned her fourth finish under the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) banner.

Nunes put together a combination early in round one. She landed a leg kick, but McMann grabbed a hold of her. Nunes separated herself from the body lock. McMann pressed forward, but Nunes avoided the strikes.

She went for a wheel kick, but McMann grabbed a hold of her again. Nunes connected with a punch on the break. The “Lioness” dropped McMann with a combination to the head. She took control of her back and rained down punches. Nunes synched up a rear naked choke, forcing the tap.

Final Result: Amanda Nunes def. Sara McMann via submission (rear-naked choke) – Round 1, 2:53
