One of the biggest cards of the year is set for July 11, 2015 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena as reigning featherweight king Jose Aldo defends his title against Irish sensation the “Notorious” Conor McGregor in one of the most anticipated bouts in recent memory. There is definitely no love lost between the two as McGregor has not kept quiet about the champion. The two also took part in a massive world media tour to promote the fight where the trash talk was intensified.

Just about a month out from the fight, the tension between the two has increased once again, regarding drug tests, and some issues regarding a recent drug test for Aldo. On Thursday morning, MMAFighting reported that a Nevada State Athletic Commission agent, Ben Mosier, arrived at Nova Uniao in Brazil to construct a random drug test on the champion.

Aldo agreed and took the test, but his coach Andre Pederneiras had a funny feeling about the whole situation. After it was made clear that the Brazilian Athletic Commission was unaware of the test, the police were called and it was discovered that Mosier did not have the correct visa paperwork to be in Brazil, causing Aldo’s urine sample to be discarded.

Today (June 12, 2015), the situation has been resolved as a member of the Brazilian Athletic Commission as well as a member of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) arrived at Aldo’s gym, received a sample, and sent that sample to a reputable sports medicine and research testing laboratory in Utah.

The champion, speaking with Combate, commented on the whole ordeal:

“That’s normal,” Aldo told Combate on Thursday. “We reached a point in this sport that not only me, but every fighter has to go through this. This is my first time in Brazil. I think the Brazilian commission should be the one handling this, for the fact that I live here. But that’s not an issue. It’s nothing for me. Fight, pee, it’s the same thing to me.”

Although “Scarface” described the situation as normal and as a mishap, it seems as if the challenger is not too happy with it all, taking to his official twitter account to give his take, saying that he was tested last month, and calling Aldo a weasel in the process:

McGregor’s coach, John Kavanagh, also took to twitter to take a shot at the champion:

Well it seems as if the tension and beef continues to grow as we approach arguably the most anticipated and most highly promoted event in UFC history. Will we have a new featherweight champion come July 11th?
