Cheick Kongo calls out Cain Velasquez with some strong words

Recently, longtime UFC Heavyweight Cheick Kongo has gone through a turbulent period in his MMA career. After suffering a knockout loss at the hands of Roy ‘Big Country’ Nelson at UFC 159, most thought that Kongo had received his walking papers from the UFC. News soon followed that Kongo’s contract had simply expired and terms were not agreed to on a new one. Kongo replied that he was still on good terms with the UFC.

This week, MMA H.E.A.T. caught up with Kongo for an exclusive interview. Kongo says that he wants to face off with Nelson again, believing the result to be different the second time around. Apparently Kongo would also like a rematch with UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez, and has some very, very choice words to do so. Check out Kongo’s wild statement below:

  • Come on! he's just being funny. That said, I don't think he has a chance of beating Cain in 100 years.

    • Congo is still on the UFC roster because, he's France's biggest MMA star and France is the next country to conquer by the ever growing sport.

      • once a looser always a looser, cheick congo get some wins not your mouth, let your skill to the talking. its just that simple.

    • Kongo is a dumptruck just like that dude Mark Munoz, who has Chris Wiedman, Woodman, (whatever his name is) smelling himself. Can't wait until Silva wire his jaw shut & send him back to prelims.

      • @hateocracy,

Relax dude. Lets stick to Check Kongo. Not that I would disagree with you on Wiedman.

      • i think weidmann will whip silva's mouth, your dreaming dude.

  • Even he doesn't believe it.

  • Why not pair him with Pat Barry again, hope it would be a fun roller coaster of an ending again.

  • he's still dizzy from the ko…
makes as much sense as Miguel Torres after Michael Mcdonald fight…

  • Whether he is being funny or not, his last fight with Cain was his most impressive performance in the last few years, even managing to stagger the future champ a few times.

Unfortunately for Kongo, that best performance of his was still a one-sided ********** via Velasquez.

They will never fight again but if they did, I think Cain would finish him standing. Kongo's defense is very suspect (there is actually an amazing article somewhere online showing why Kongo is so susceptible to being dropped)

  • What a doofus.
