WSOF 13 Results & Highlights

World Series of Fighting (WSOF) 13 took place tonight (Saturday Sept. 13th, 2014) from the Sands Bethlehem Event Center in Pennsylvania.

The event featured a 147-pound catchweight bout between bantamweight champion Marlon Moraes and The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 18 veteran Cody Bollinger, who was booked against Moraes when originally scheduled title challenger Josh Hill was forced out with an injury. A near 20-pound weight advantage proved to be little more than elementary, as Moraes overwhelmed him.

Bollinger looked gun shy after eating some huge shots in round one, including a nasty body shot. Moraes dropped his foe early in round two, and sunk in the rear naked choke for the win.

Keon Caldwell squared off against Ozzy Dugulubgov in the lightweight co-main event. This was a great back-and-forth fight, but clearly Dugulbgov was the better man. He pinged Caldwell with a vicious shot in the last round, and he was knocked clean.

Isaiah Chapman and Timur Valiev threw down at bantamweight, with Valuev just proving too much for the young American. Big kicks and constant pressure were the story for the Russian, as he cruised to a unanimous win.

Lightweights Tom Marcellino and Frankie Perez kicked off the main card, and former UFC champion Frankie Edgar‘s training partner, Perez, was on form. He nearly got the finish in round one, and dominated throughout. A solid decision win for Perez.

Highlights of the preliminary card included Nick Brown’s starching of Sidney Outlaw in round one, a grizzly broken arm for Matthew Lozano, and a nice TKO by Katlyn Chookagian against Brigitte Narcise.
