Vitor Belfort: My Testosterone Levels Were Low At UFN 32

5993146002 d5c6e97d9a bUFC and MMA legends Dan Henderson and Vitor Belfort collided at UFC 167, resulting in Hendo’s first loss by knockout in the opening stanza. The bout showed that it may be time for the aging veteran Henderson to call it quits, but also that Belfort is possibly only just reaching his potential.

After every ‘Phenom’ victory there is the debate of TRT and steroids, something that apparently played no role in Belfort’s most recent win. This, via MMAFighting.com, means Belfort might finally be able to compete in Vegas again; Johny Hendricks may advise Belfort that it isn’t such a great privilege.

“My (testosterone) levels were low in my last fight, I have all the exams to prove that I have a disease. It’s simple.”

The Brazilian KO artist also hinted that he had started TRT before the fight with Anderson Silva at UFC 126; meaning that his TRT treatment may not be giving him the superhuman powers that he has been accused of gaining.

Belfort is doing everything within his power to get another shot at the UFC Middleweight title, and is confident that his issues with the NSAC will be resolved soon. At age 36 this may well be the peak of Belfort’s career, or at least of his revival, and I’m starting to question whether Silva or Weidman could deal with him.

“”Chael Sonnen has a license to fight in Vegas, and I’m doing everything by the book,” Belfort said. “I have all the exams to prove it.”

That’s a fair point, but Chael Sonnen is a different beast from most others; aiding his bosses in every way possible, whereas Dana White has stated on many occasions that Belfort can be difficult.

One thing ‘The Phenom’ possesses that Chael doesn’t is the ability to kock people the funk out and very quickly. Though it doesn’t come in to play often nowadays, the ability to beat guys quickly and without question should be the controbuting factor to Belfort getting the shot he deserves.
