UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson came into his UFC 178 title defense against Chris Cariaso last night (Sat., September 27, 2014) as a massive favorite, and he did not fail to disappoint when he put “Kamikaze” away with a brutal second round straight armlock.
It was a main event fight that, after such a jam-packed main card full of amazing fights and controversy, that was simply viewed as sort of an afterthought, something to bring the fans down from the spectacle that they had just witnessed in the prior bouts.
And that’s too bad, as it takes away from the brilliance of “Mighty Mouse,” who may just be the No. 1-ranked pound-for-poun fighter in the world.
