Tyson Pedro Survives Knockdown To Submit Khalil Rountree

A light heavyweight clash served as the second bout on the main card of UFC Fight Night 101. The two 205-pounders doing battle were The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) finalist Khalil Rountree (4-2) and Tyson Pedro (5-0).

While things looked bad for Pedro, he quickly turned things around.

Pedro went for a spinning back kick to the body under a minute into the fight. Rountree dropped Pedro with a right hand, but he was taken down quickly. :The War Horse” tried working his way back to his feet, but he was dumped back down. Pedro went for a rear-naked choke and he earned the submission win.

This was Pedro’s Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) debut and he remains undefeated. Meanwhile, Rountree suffers his second straight loss and the first time he has been finished in his professional career.
