These Aren’t Rockets, They’re Missiles: Conor McGregor Is Entering His Next Fight at Full Power

Conor McGregor

Conor McGregor has once more sparked frenzy with new sparring footage. McGregor is in contention for a spot on the UFC White House Card, as per Dana White.

However, the Irishman’s long-anticipated matchup with Michael Chandler is dashed by White, and the next rumored bout with Jorge Masvidal is also not happening.

Hence, who Conor McGregor will face if he returns to the octagon on June 14 remains the biggest question among MMA fans.

Recently, ‘The Notorious’ shared a sparring clip in which he declared that he will go “100% Conor McGregor” in his next fight:

“Am I throwing rockets? These are missiles, yeah. It’s going to be some hell of a camp for us. Gonna get seriously fu*king way better this camp. Camp 100% this is. We are going in here 100%. I’m going into this fight 100% Conor McGregor, not 92… So it has to be really meticulous. We were right there with the last one.”

The Notorious’ has not entered the octagon following his UFC 264 loss to Dustin Poirier in 2021. McGregor broke his leg during this trilogy bout and was sidelined because of the drastic injury that needed immediate surgery.

Following recovery and rehabilitation, he was booked to headline UFC 303 until a toe injury forced him out of that fight.

Now, the Irishman has his sight set on just one thing: Fighting on the South Lawn of the White House.

Ariel Helwani thinks UFC could potentially book Conor McGregor vs. Paddy Pimblett

Ariel Helwani thinks Conor McGregor, the UFC’s biggest draw, won’t be fighting at the White House, as it is an event with no gate, no sponsors, and most importantly, no pay-per-view. Hence, Dana White and Co. would want to save ‘The Notorious’ for a July card where they can generate ‘real money.’

Conor McGregor, Paddy Pimblett

However, if things play out otherwise and McGregor fights on June 14, Helwani thinks he should be matched up against Paddy Pimblett. He said:

“If he’s [Conor McGregor fighting at the White House] involved, I could see a scenario where it’s him and Paddy… Of the realistic and winnable options, Paddy’s probably the best one.”

Pimblett suffered his first UFC loss this past weekend to Justin Gaethje at UFC 324. He will be on the sidelines for 3-4 months as he recovers from the punishment he took from ‘The Highlight.’
