Ronda Rousey made a huge splash last weekend (Sun., March 29, 2015) when she appeared alongside Furious 7 co-star “The Rock” to take on “The Authority” at the WWE’s flagship show WrestleMania 31.

“Rowdy” impressed by tossing longtime former champion and WWE exec Paul “Triple H” Levesque with her trademark judo before wrenching the arm of his wife and WWE principal owner Stephanie McMahon, setting up what appeared to be a future clash between the two at next year’s WrestleMania.

Indeed Rousey tweeted out a message that “she was just getting started,” but it seems as if her wrestling career has come to an abrupt end before it even started, at least for now.

On last night’s episode of UFC Tonight, Ariel Helwani confirmed that Rousey’s agent Brad Slater told him no new pro-wrestling spots are planned for Rousey this year and that his client is fully focused on defeating undefeated challenger Bethe Correia in the main event of August 1’s UFC 190 from Rio.

Rumors had risen that Rousey had signed a contract with the promotion and was set to again appear at their events, but apparently the spot was just a “one-off”:

Slater also reaffirmed that Rousey is one hundred percent committed to the UFC, where she’s finished her last three competitors in a total of 96 brutal seconds.

There’s nothing official as to whether or not she will return to the WWE ring at any point.

What do you think – is Rousey appearing on a mainstream stage like WrestleMania great for the sport of MMA, or does it simply go too far in blurring the lines between the real fighting of MMA and the scripted sagas of the WWE?
