Regina Tarin Triumphs in Brutal, Bloody Fight Against Ernesta Kareckaite – UFC Mexico Highlights
Despite fighting on three days’ notice, Regina Tarin stole the show at UFC Mexico with a beautifully violent brawl against Ernesta Kareckaite.
Both fighters had their moments in the opening round, but it was Tarin who landed the more impactful shots, including a thudding left hook that had Kareckaite on wobbly legs early. Tarin continued to find success in the second, landing some nasty uppercuts in the clinch and lighting up Kareckaite’s midsection with a handful of well-timed knees.
With just under two minutes to go in the stanza, Kareckaite appeared to have been busted open from an exchange, though instant replay revealed that it was due to an accidental clash of heads.

With a relatively close second round, both fighters came out swinging for the fences in the third. Roughly a minute into the round, Tarin scored her first takedown, taking Kareckaite’s back and kicking her leg out from under her. However, Kareckaite popped right back up and reversed position against the fence before separating.

Once back in the center of the Octagon, it turned into a battle of wills as both fighters threw shots with reckless abandon. Kareckaite landed her fair share of shots, busting Tarin’s mouth open in the process, but it was Tarin’s non-stop onslaught of uppercuts and a flurry in the final 10 seconds that swung the scorecards in her favor.
Official Result: Regina Tarin def. Ernesta Kareckaite via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28).
