Paddy Pimblett is Pissed Off Over Justin Gaethje Decision: “That’s a draw!”

Paddy Pimblett

Paddy Pimblett has several sour sentiments attached to his clash with Justin Gaethje in January of this year. On his personal YouTube channel ‘Paddy The Baddy,’ Pimblett combed over the fight footage of his interim UFC lightweight title clash that headlined UFC 324.

The former Cage Warriors standout did a rewatch of his Gaethje bout and pointed out some earlier instances in the fight of Gaethje being warned about his fingers being extended. Pimblett felt like there were multiple pokes where a point should have been deducted after receiving multiple prior warnings for the repeat infractions.

Pimblett also claimed that Gaethje fraudulently gestured that he was hit low and equated Gaethje’s ‘tactic’ to veteran savvy by intimating he was hit low to buy some recovery time. The UK native also stated he wasn’t legitimately knocked down at certain junctures in the fight and described that he felt infuriated watching the contest back. When delving into the specifics of how he judged the clash with Gaethje overall, with an excerpt posted to X account @ChampRDS, Paddy Pimblett said,

“For me there, I win [rounds] 3 and 5. If he got a point taken off like he should’ve, lad, that’s a draw. So yeah, as I said, I don’t want to sound bitter, lad, and kind of cry over spilled milk. But I know how Jared Gordon felt, put it that way. Again, I don’t want to sound bitter either but isn’t it funny how Trevor Wittman has got a glove design that’s gonna stop eye pokes. But he won’t give the glove design to the UFC, and then his fighters are eye poking everyone. Little cospiracy theory for you there.”

Paddy Pimblett on “weird feeling” before UFC 324 bout vs. Justin Gaethje

After describing how odd he felt it was to receive more praise for this UFC 324 loss than his prior wins, the popular 155-pound combatant began touching on some unusual sensations before walking out to fight Justin Gaethje, as Paddy Pimblett stated [via Sherdog],

“It’s weird to be honest, before we walked and we were stood there, I had a weird feeling. But it’s one of them, you get weird feelings now and then. I didn’t feel as confident as I usually do. But then me music comes out and I start bouncing out, there’s no feeling like it. I love that moment when I walk out. I think we were waiting a bit too long at the back… Felt boss in fight camp, I had a great weight cut, I had no injuries for once, everything was going great and I felt boss. So I have no excuses.”
