Nick Diaz Turns Himself In, Begins Serving Jail Sentence

Nick Diaz may be awaiting his hearing before the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) for his third marijuana violation, but today he’s dealing with trouble of a different (and more serious) sort.

According to a report from TMZ, the polarizing Stockton native turned himself into San Joaquin County and began serving his massive sentence of two days for two DUI charges incurred in 2013 and 2014.

Diaz struck a deal with prosecutors that saw him receive a punishment of only two days in jail in addition to three years of probation and a DUI educational course, and he had already served one of those days when he was initially arrested. He turned himself in at 10:11 a.m. PST, and should be out tomorrow.

Diaz may be relatively in the clear for his drunk driving arrests, but with his fighting future very much in jeopardy thanks to the new and more stringent punishments for drug use enacted by the NAC this month, it may be quite a long time before we see Diaz in an MMA cage again, if ever.
