Two questions ran rampant heading into UFC on FOX 16. The first one being, could Miesha Tate (17-5) extend her winning streak to four? The second was, is Jessica Eye (11-3) ready to move up to the next level in the women’s bantamweight division?

Both questions were answered at UFC on FOX 16. “Cupcake” was the one who walked out of Chicago with a win.

The fight began and Eye countered Tate’s hook with a stiff jab. Eye clipped Tate with a couple of more straights to the face. Both Tate and Eye were bleeding from the nose. Tate grazed Eye with a front kick, but Eye responded with a combination.

Tate missed a straight right to the body. She popped Eye with a right hand. Tate connected with a flurry and dropped Eye.

Round three began and Tate stalked Eye. “Evil” was able to connect with a leg kick. Tate returned the favor shortly after. “Cupcake” blocked a high kick. Eye dug in Tate’s body with a hook. Eye countered Tate with a hook. Tate drove in for a power double takedown and landed it. “Cupcake” gained control of Eye’s back.

The judges scoring the bout had “Cupcake” winning all three rounds.
