Following a recent Reddit AMA session with fans, women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey posted some of her favorite fan art depicting her as Marvel Comics superheroine “Captain Marvel.”

It appeared to be a natural role for the dominant ‘Rowdy,’ who’s ran through all of her UFC opponents similar to someone with super powers. As a result, a successful Hollywood director agrees.

After viewing the picture online, “Clerks” front man Kevin Smith spoke up to TMZ (via FOX Sports) to offer his opinion that she’s a natural fit:

“You see her in that picture? Come on. You don’t even need to think at this point, there’s an image. Lord knows she’s one of the only people who would play a superhero that could actually beat the s–t out of somebody.”

Rousey certainly can ‘beat the s—t out of somebody,’ because no one has been even remotely close to harming her in an MMA cage, and according to Smith, it’s that fact that makes her a no-brainer choice for Captain Marvel:

“I would like to see it happen,” Smith said. “Seems like she has a good head on her shoulders, she followed a dream — and holy s–t, she’s an ass-kicker. If that doesn’t sound like a superhero, I don’t know what is.”

With Rousey’s film taking off thanks to roles in “The Expendables 3,” “Entourage,” “Furious 7,” and the upcoming “Mile 22,” and a potentially natural role, as Captain Marvel could be the next logical step when it debuts in 2018. She could even be out of fighting and a full-time actress at that point, making it even more likely.

Do you agree with Smith’s view that Rousey is a natural pick to become Captain Marvel in the near future?
