Johny Hendricks vs. Martin Kampmann Fight Video

Former UFC welterweight champion Johny Hendricks came dangerously close to dethroning former longtime welterweight king Georges St. Pierre back in 2013 at UFC 167, and many believed that he had actually won the fight.

After the bout, St. Pierre shockingly vacated his title, and “Big Rigg” later took on Robbie Lawler for the vacant title, scoring a unanimous decision victory to become the champion. However, at UFC 181 in the rematch, Lawler got the better of Hendricks, and “Big Rigg’s” short lived title run came to an end.

Since then, Hendricks has scored a dominant decision win over Matt Brown last March, and he was expecting to face the winner of UFC 189’s Robbie Lawler vs. Rory MacDonald title fight, but the UFC instead decided to pair Hendricks with fellow top contender Tyron Woodley at October 3’s UFC 192.

Despite losing to Lawler, and not receiving another title shot right now, Hendricks remains one of the best fighters in the division. With a highly decorated wrestling background, and absolutely devastating punching power, “Big Rigg” always seems to be in the title conversation.

As his bout with Woodley nears closer, take a look back at one of Hendricks’ finest Octagon finishes above courtesy of the UFC.

Taking on Martin Kampmann at UFC 154, “Big Rigg” came out firing, and landed a huge left hand, finishing the bout early on in the first round.

Will he be able to land that patented left hand when he meets “The Chosen One” in a few weeks?
