Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs. Valerie Letourneau To Co-Headline UFC 193

UFC 185 Embedded Episode 4

The UFC announced at Friday’s UFC Go Big event that Joanna Jedrzejczyk will defend her strawweight championship against Valerie Letourneau at UFC 193 in the co-main event.

The main event of that event will be Ronda Rousey vs. Holly Holm for the UFC bantamweight championship.

Jedrzejczyk was supposed to fight Claudia Gadelha next, but those plans got scrapped due to Gadelha being injured in training camp.

UFC President Dana White commented about this fight.

“Claudia is hurt, she has some problems with her hand. I know she said she can fight, but she can’t. We ended up moving this when Robbie Lawler fell out. When that fell out I had to call (Joanna). This whole women’s thing is crazy right now, so we decided to do Ronda and Joanna together in Melbourne, Australia.”

Letourneau holds a professional MMA record of 8-3 and is currently riding a four-fight winning streak.

UFC 193 will be held on November 15, 2015 (in the U.S) from Melbourne, Australia at Etihad Stadium.

The main event of the event will be Carlos Condit vs. Robbie Lawler for the UFC welterweight title.
