Glover Teixeira Stops Patrick Cummins In Second Round

The co-main event of UFC Fight Night 77 saw light heavyweights Glover Teixeira (24-4) and Patrick Cummins (8-3) go toe-to-toe inside the Octagon. Both fighters last competed in Aug. 2015 and were victorious.

At the end of the night, Cummins just couldn’t withstand the punching power of Teixeira.

Cummins got in a jab and took Teixeira down briefly. “”Durkin” avoided a guillotine on his way to completing a takedown, but Teixeira once again popped back up quickly. Teixeira’s right hand broke through the guard of Cummins. “Durkin” ate a left hook. Cummins took the back of Teixeira, but lost the position. Cummins completed a double leg takedown with over a minute to go in the first round. Teixeira stunned “Durkin” with an uppercut as the round came to an end.

Teixeira came out guns blazing at the start of round two. Cummins had his desperate takedown attempt stuffed. The Brazilian landed several left hooks and referee Herb Dean stopped the fight.
