Bryce Mitchell Snatches Victory Over Santiago Luna with Late Arm Triangle – UFC Vegas 118 Highlights
Bryce Mitchell earned the 10th victory of his Octagon career at UFC Vegas 118, defeating the previously unbeaten Santiago Luna.
Both fighters came out swinging early, but it was less than a minute into the opening round when Mitchell secured a takedown near the fence and immediately landed in side control. Mitchell’s offense on the mat was few and far between, but ‘Thug Nasty’ racked up nearly four minutes of control time in the round, sealing it for him on the scorecards.

It was more of the same from Mitchell in the second, as he immediately closed the distance and looked to secure an early takedown. However, it was Luna who would end up on top before backing away and forcing Mitchell back to his feet.
That decision allowed Mitchell to secure a takedown of his own and ride out the round in side control.

Luna had his best moment of the fight in round three, gaining top control and nearly cinching in an anaconda choke, though he was unable to lock in the hold. Mitchell would go on to reverse position, moving into full mount and fishing for an arm triangle choke.
With less than 10 seconds left in the fight, Mitchell forced the tap out, handing Luna the first loss of his mixed martial arts career.
Official Result: Bryce Mitchell def. Santiago Luna via submission (arm triangle) at 4:52 of Round 3.
