Fatima Kline Ragdolls Tabatha Ricci to Cruise to Unanimous Decision at UFC Oklahoma City
UFC Women’s strawweight contenders Tabatha Ricci and Fatima Kline locked horns earlier tonight at UFC Oklahoma City.
From the opening bell, Ricci tried to dictate the pace, being ahead in every department. However, Kline stayed patient, stuffed the early takedowns, and later scored two of her own. Meanwhile, “Baby Shark” also managed to take Kline down once, but she couldn’t capitalize on it, as the American fighter quickly scrambled back to her feet.
Round 2 was much slower, with equal activity from both sides. However, “The Archangel” nearly forced the tap from Ricci in the final seconds until the bell saved the latter.
In the final frame, Kline turned the tide in her favor with sharp jabs and combinations and then scored back-to-back takedowns. “The Archangel” then started piecing up Ricci’s lead leg. Before the final bell, although “Baby Shark” scored another takedown somehow, she could not capitalize on it as Kline took top position and started to ground-and-pound her until the final bell.
Official decision: Fatima Kline defeated Tabatha Ricci by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
