It’s an off weekend for the UFC, but the promotion will be back in action in two weeks, as UFC Fight Night 76 is set to go down from Dublin, Ireland on October 24, 2015 live on UFC Fight Pass.

Former top five-ranked featherweight Dustin Poirier will take on “Irish” Joe Duffy in the main event, but that’s not all, as a heavyweight collision between No. 3-ranked Stipe Miocic, and No. 7-ranked Ben Rothwell is set for the co-main event.

In the suddenly crowded heavyweight division, this is an intriguing bout between rising contenders, and could produce a future title challenger.

The Croatian Miocic is only 1-1 in his last two, but he took part in a five-round war with former champion Junior Dos Santos last December. Despite coming up short in the bloody affair, Miocic’s stock only rose. He then bounced back last May, putting a brutal beat down on the heavy-handed Mark Hunt.

Rothwell on the other hand, has quickly put together a very impressive three-fight win streak that includes three consecutive finishes over Brandon Vera, Alistair Overeem, and most recently Matt Mitrione. A win over Miocic would almost certainly shoot Rothwell to the top of the heavyweight rankings.
