The rumored wrestling contest between Ben Askren and Jordan Burroughs is official for Beat the Streets “Grapple at the Garden” on May 6.

Both men are decorated college wrestlers and Olympians. The event will take place on May 6 in New York at Hulu Theatre at Madison Square Garden. It was made official earlier today via the organization’s official statement:

“Beat the Streets, the largest grassroots inner-city wrestling program in the United States, serving as both a fundraiser for the organization and to celebrate its athletes as they compete on the biggest stage in the center of the world.”

After nabbing two national titles at Missouri, Askren decided to throw his hat in the MMA arena. “Funky” has done pretty well for himself. He captured titles in both Bellator and ONE Championship before being involved in the first-ever MMA trade that sent Askren to the UFC. He finished his college wrestling career with a 153-8 record.
