Arman Tsarukyan Slams UFC for Wasting His Time, Vows to Take Ilia Topuria’s Belt
Arman Tsarukyan believes the impending lightweight title unification bout between Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje, which will serve as the UFC Freedom 250 headliner, is a waste of time.
This past weekend, during UFC 326, the bouts for the White House event on June 14 were announced, and Tsarukyan is not pleased.
Similar to many UFC fans and analysts, the No. 2 lightweight contender also believes Topuria will knock out “The Highlight,” and thus the latter has no chance of claiming the undisputed 155-pound championship.
Instead, “Ahalkalakets” wants to be the one to take away Topuria’s spotless record and also the Georgian-Spaniard’s lightweight strap. In an interview, he said:
“Ilia vs. Gaethje is a good fight, but like no chance for Gaethje. Ilia has better boxing, and he is going to knock him out. They just waste my time. They gotta put me against Ilia, and I’ll take his belt. Easy money for me.”

In 2025, Ilia Topuria showed ZERO interest in fighting Arman Tsarukyan. But his stance has now changed. “El Matador” doesn’t see Tsarukyan as a threat and is game to lock horns with him if the promotion wants.
Dana White is not pleased with what Arman Tsarukyan did at RAF 06
During the UFC 326 post-fight presser, Dana White shared his thoughts on the wild brawl between Arman Tsarukyan and Georgi Poullas at RAF 06.
Although “Ahalkalakets” has claimed that he has spoken to Hunter Campbell and expects to get a title shot later this year, White’s comments suggest that Tsarukyan’s name may not be in the mix because of his antics inside and outside the octagon. White said:
“I am not thrilled with Arman right now. And there are a lot of different reasons. It’s not just the stuff that you see publicly… Where there is smoke, there is fire, and Arman has been smoking a lot lately.”
