Anderson Silva

During media day for UFC 190 on Thursday, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (34-9-1-1) revealed that former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva would be in attendance at the event to watch him fight. This is big news as Silva has not appeared a UFC event since his fight with Nick Diaz back at UFC 183 and then was suspended for a failed drug test for PEDs.

“I have been talking to Anderson, he arrives today. He couldn’t come on Tuesday due to personal issues, but we will have dinner together tonight and he will watch the fights and be with us.”

With UFC 190 taking place at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, there are many of Big Nog’s training partners fighting on the card as well as his little brother, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira fighting Mauricio Rua in the co-main event. He spoke about how special it was for them to be there.

“It’s great, we are all partners of his, said Big Nog. Rafael Cavalcante has been his sparring partner for years. Vitor Miranda has helped Anderson before, too. Even Bigfoot. I’m very proud to have so many personal friends fighting on the card.”

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira will face Stefan Struve at UFC 190 on the main card.

UFC 190 takes place Saturday, August 1st, 2015 with a UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship bout between current champion Ronda Rousey and top contender Bethe Correia headlining the event that will air on UFC Fight Pass, Fox Sports 1 and pay-per-view beginning at 7:00 pm EST.
