Bobby Green Thinking About Retiring After UFC Fight Night 57

bobby green ufc highlights

UFC lightweight Bobby Green has a big task ahead of him at UFC Fight Night 57, as he prepares to face dangerous striker Edson Barboza this Saturday (November 22nd, 2014). “King” is currently riding an eight fight winning streak, and enjoys the #7 spot in the official rankings. His co-main spot on such a great card is indicative of what the future holds with a win.

That, however, might all be changing according to Green himself, who posted the following to his Facebook page:

Think this might be my last fight thinking about retirement ‪#‎tired‬

Either Bobby Green is seriously considering retirement, or he is playing mind games with Edson Barboza. Perhaps the Strikeforce veteran is trying to lull “Junior” in to a false sense of security? If so, that’s a pretty crappy tactic.

My gut tells me that this is for real, and if so it could be damaging his performance on fight night. Cutting weight during this fight week may also have something to do with Green’s mood change, and maybe a big win would soon change his opinion. Whatever the case, he needs to be on point for a knockout artist like Barboza.

At only 28, and with a record of 23-5, would Bobby Green be missing out on a shot at glory if he retires now? Stat tuned to LowKickMMA.com for more fight week coverage and hype!
