Chael Sonnen Says He Will Be The One Who Ends Rich Franklin’s Career

Three-time UFC title challenger Chael Sonnen has been shifted from UFC 173, The Ultimate Fighter Brazil Finale and now to UFC 175 for his fight with Wanderlei Silva. Uncle Chael and ‘The Axe Murderer’ have been locked in to a feud for a while now, and have recently ‘come to blows’ as opposing coaches on TUF Brazil 3.

It appears that Sonnen is still a firm believer that Silva will pull out of their fight, and has turned his attention to another fan favourite and MMA legend. Taking to his Twitter account, ‘The American Gangster’ called out former middleweight champion Rich Franklin:

Franklin was recently quoted as saying he still has the champion’s mentality, and even went as far as saying he believes he could beat Anderson Silva. Props to ‘Ace’ for still having the motivation after all this time, but would he be ready in time to step in as replacement for Silva?

Perhaps Sonnen is just doing what he does best, but there may be another side to it. It would make sense to keep his avenues open in case Silva does drop out, but it could also just be another troll by the king of trash talking. Either way, would you like to see a future match between Sonnen and Franklin?
