TUF Future and Brock Lesnar
Posted on December 24, 2010, 02:48 PM by RigoWeeks back Mr Dana White mention the idea of Having Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir as coaches of the next season of TUF. But right after that there was news about Mir fighting Brendan Schaub, making the TUF idea almost impossible. That and also the fact that Brock turn it down, but according to Meltzer Lesnar would like to make a good paycheck by headlining WrestleMania, The Undertaker already made his move right after Cain Velasquez defeat him at UFC 121.
The idea that Spike got is to make Lesnar a TUF coach to make next season the highest rated since Kimbo was in. And at the same time allow Lesnar to headline WrestleMania, so it's a win-win situation to all the parties involved. But is it? MMA is still a growing sport , and Lesnar was the biggest star the UFC had just a few months back, letting him do a WrestleMania could do damage to the legitimacy of the sport.
Here is a very interesting case where it looks the UFC needs more a fighter rather than the fighter needs the UFC, if you think about it Lesnar is already famous, he does not need the money and if he wants a job he can get one with out getting punch in the face.
Dana White has to know he needs Spike after all they were the ones who open the opportunity to make TUF and let the UFC expand at a much higher level of mainstream. But at the same time will it be better in a short term and bad at a long term? what does it says about Brock Lesnar wanting do to more the WWE show rather than return to the UFC to bounce back, after all he was being sold as the baddest man of the planet a few months ago.
Is this the proof that the UFC can hype anyone into whatever they want and make it so? And if so, is this good or bad for MMA in general? I'm sure many fans would like to see Lesnar / Mir as coaches happen and then watch the fight in PPV; Dana knows Lesnar already beat Mir and the odds will be on Lesnar side. But with so many options for coaches for the next season Wanderlei/Sonnen , Cruz/Faber , Torres/Faber among others will it be worth take the risk of letting Lesnar do WrestleMania just to get more more views on TUF ?
Well its all in the hands of the president of the UFC now and im sure we will get the news soon about the future of TUF, and if it is indeed Mir and Lesnar then don't be surprise if you see Lesnar in WrestleMania, after all it seems to be more business than sport when it comes to ratings and money.

The only problem is that Lesnar has not expressed any interest at all in doing any type of pro-wrestling match. Furthermore, where did the idea that Spike wants Lesnar to do Wrestlemania come from?
lol u pwned him
And you Slurped the guy above you??
Are u asking him or telling him...?
@ Joey_Santosus
Very true man, this is the first ive heard of Spike wanting Lesnar to do Wrestlemania.
i read it on an article on MixMartialArts.com look it up .
i would not post someting is not true
I wasn't intending to be disrespectful or accuse you of posting something that you made up. I was never in doubt that you found this info somewhere, I was rather questioning the facts that you relayed. I have sense found this info, it comes from a pro-wrestling source and has since surfaced on a few mma websites. I simply do not believe what they are saying tho. Nothing personal with you Rigo : )
yeah i am sure you read it somewhere if you look hard enough you can find something that agrees with you. brock has went on record saying that he has no intention of doing wwe again. dana has clearly stated that brock is under contract and cannot legally do wrestlemania.if you are going to do a hack job on the ufc and brock lesnar at least verify your facts
Lesnar is under contract with the UFC which means he can't do pro-wrestling, also Dana said there is no chance of him doing wrestling. And yes Spike would not gain anything by him doing wrestlemania either.
Thanks bro we always wondered how ufc contracts work!!
You've contributed nothing to the thread aside from sarcasm...
Decent article but damn, proof read before you post.
You do it!
I am not his editor.
so pretty much this tells us absolutely nothing that we didnt already know
this article isnt great......
Are you at anything??
neither are you
Wait, wait just a sec...Whats Brock going to teach?
How to turtle?
damn so many people actually think they have decent opinions about mma. I am seriouslly falling more and more out of mma as posers fall in deeper. When walmart started selling mma elite it should have been a sign. Main stream is cool but I think I liked 2003-2008 better....Liddell days were fun
Cool...
Now look at whos slurping liddell
Brock as coach...lol
I agree I laughed too. Brock only had 5 or 6 fights, his coaches are great but Brock would only make a good wrestling coach. If Brocks the coach then the other coach should be like Tank Abbott... makes no sense
He cant be worst that Kocheck can he...?
Ya same with Koscheck. When I heard Koscheck was going to be a coach I was like hes going to suck. But GSP makes a good coach from all of his knowledge from all the trainers hes trained with. Koscheck can only teach you how to fake a knee.
As for the thread itself: if you search the internet hard enough, youlle find news and rumours of almost everything, hence the fantasy story were reading here. It makes no sense from any perpective (business or otherwise) this "deal". The only part that would benefit from it would be the WWE. Also I find it funny the contradiction: Brock has enough money and popularity to turn down the UFC but on the same time he would sell himself out for the WWE...? Doesnt make sense at all.
As you so well have putted, Brock was, a couple of months ago, the badest man on the planet. He gained a lot of respect from fighters, comentators and fans. He would loose all that if he fought on WWE and that is something money cant buy. Furthermore, if you ever fought or competed in a real sport, you know the satisfaction of winning something real, of competing at a highest level. That kind of "pleasure" and satisfaction is something money cant buy as well...
personally I cant see Lesnar vs Mir being anywhere near as entertaining as Sonnen vs Wanderlei could be. USA vs Brazil? Sure there might be some good back and forth banter between Lesnar and Mir, but I have never been very entertained by anything Brock has to say. Mir definitely has a deep understanding of the sport and can make a great coach, but Brock has more capacity to learn than he does to teach. I cant see Brock teaching the finer points of escaping the Omaplata to his team.
