Dana White: Miguel Torres handled his business like a man, Torres rejoins UFC

Earlier this month former WEC Bantamweight Champion Miguel Torres posted the following on his twitter account:

“If a rape van was called a surprise van more women wouldn’t mind going for rides in them. Everyone likes surprises.”

The tweet, a line from the Comedy Central program, “Workaholics” earned him an abrupt release from the UFC.  Today it was announced that Torres had been reinstated to the UFC.

Somewhat fittingly the news of Torres rejoining the promotion came via twitter as Ariel Helwani posted the following, “Dana says Torres is back. Torres has donated money to local rape centers, visited them. Dana says Torres was very remorseful,” and “Dana says Torres handled his business like a man and no one told him to do it. Torres very emotional.”

This worked out well. A message sent to the fighters to be responsible but Torres gets back in. All's well that end's well.

Knew this was coming...but seriously does he expect us to believe Torres went to womens centers and donated money and no-one told him to do this? And news magically made its way back to Dana? Theres more to the story here for sure.

I never said Torres would beat Cruz.. I said this fight needs to happen... But If I had to predict, I say it would be a 5 round war.... I see it going either way... Torres leg kicks, and ground skills would play a major role in this fight. Yet Cruz style of fighting is what makes him champ...

Torres is a good fighter and I'm glad he jumped through the hoops to get back into the UFC; and it doesn't matter if anyone told him to do it or not. It was ultimately his choice to do the right thing in the end. No-one did that for him. Rite on Miguel.

After Rashads comments and others, it was unfair to makeTorres the scapegoat.

Fans like Torres, therefore he is back....its business....Dana would have a rapist in the organisation if they brought massive PPV.

I knew it would only be a matter of time until he was brought back! He is too good of a fighter and draws too many fans! His comments were inappropriate but everyone says stupid things and he is very deserving of being in the UFC!
