Uriah Hall vs. Nick Ring Set For UFC on Fox Sports 1 In Boston

Since losing to Kelvin Gastelum at the TUF 17 finale, highly touted Middleweight Uriah Hall has switched up his training camp and has been training with the likes of Brendan Schaub and Mark Munoz. He will have until August 17th to complete his preparations, as it was announced over Twitter late last night that he will face Nick Ring at UFC on Fox Sports 1: Boston.

U-Hall isn’t getting an easy opponent in Nick Ring, the 13-2 Canadian-American has a black belt in Muay Thai, a brown belt in Jiu-Jitsu and a pro-boxing record of 4-1. Ring most recently fought Chris Camozzi at UFC 158, losing by decision. Hall came in to the UFC on a ton of hype, and was promptly derailed by the more focused Kelvin Gastelum.

Hall’s diverse striking and athletic ability will be tough for anyone to deal with, but it will be his mental toughness that could be his downfall. Hall’s lackluster performance against Gastelum is a typical example of an unfocused fighter, who has tons of potential. If he can get his mind right, a fight against Nick Ring should be a lock for Uriah Hall. Not taking anything away from Ring, but Hall has a lot more in his Arsenal.
