UFC featherweights Frankie Edgar and Urijah Faber returned to action yesterday morning (Saturday May 16th, 2015) at UFC Fight Night 66. The stunning Mall Of Asia Arena in Manila played host to the event, marking the promotion’s first trip to the Philippines.

The skinny on the main event was that it was pretty much a super fight, featuring two former champions of very strong divisions. At the end of the night though, only one emerged as a crystal clear victor.

Frankie Edgar found the answer for Urijah Faber’s diverse skill set, manhandling ‘The California Kid’ in a one-sided beatdown. Faber, for his part, showed how tough he is, but it’s perhaps more of an indicator of where his career is at right now.

Fun fights make sense for the Team Alpha Male star now, and maybe we can see him perform on the biggest stage, but similarly to Mark Hunt, against non title-worthy opponents. There’s no shame in it, but I think we’ve seen the last of the Faber title fights.
