UFC 130 will take place this weekend (May 28th) at the famous MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, featuring a Light Heavyweight collision between Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Matt “The Hammer” Hamill as the main event. According to a report from MMAFighting.com and officially announced on UFC.com the trilogy between Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard will have to wait. Both fighters suffered injuries during their respective training camps. To replace Edgar and Maynard for the main event at UFC 130 will be Quinton Jackson vs. Matt Hamill and the co-main event of Frank Mir vs. Roy Nelson. Reigning Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre and former Strikeforce and Elite XC champ Jake Shields will headline the landmark UFC 129 fight card, set to take place April 30th from the sold-out Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It appears Middleweights Chris Leben and Wanderei Silva will get what they’ve been asking for, as the two are now set to meet at UFC 132 in July. The match-up was announced Monday via UFC.com. Talks of the two sluggers meeting first began following Leben’s impressive submission victory over Yoshirio Akiyama at UFC 116. Afterward, “The Crippler” asked for a shot at Silva, whom he had stepped in for when an injury forced the Brazilian out of the bout with Akiyama just two weeks ahead of the match-up.
