UFC 130 will take place this weekend (May 28th) at the famous MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, featuring a Light Heavyweight collision between Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Matt “The Hammer” Hamill as the main event. UFC 130 fight card also includes nine other exciting match-ups, with former Champions, title challengers and TUF winners testing their skills inside the Octagon.
Here’s top five other fights you definitely shouldn’t miss this weekend:
1. Jorge Santiago (23-8) vs. Brian Stann (10-3)
When I was first exposed to Quinton Jackson it was through an old PRIDE DVD that my Martial Arts teacher owned. It was PRIDE’s the Best of Rampage Jackson. This was of course before he became the MMA superstar that we know now in the UFC. His battles with Kevin Randleman, his upset in the first fight with Chuck Liddell, his rivalry with Wanderlei Silva, but what really stood out to me was “the slam”. Ricardo Arona is arguably one of the greatest Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners to ever make the jump to

According to a report from MMAFighting.com and officially announced on UFC.com the trilogy between Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard will have to wait. Both fighters suffered injuries during their respective training camps. To replace Edgar and Maynard for the main event at UFC 130 will be Quinton Jackson vs. Matt Hamill and the co-main event of Frank Mir vs. Roy Nelson. The welterweight bout between Thiago Alves and Rick Story will also be promoted to the main Pay-Per-View card as well. Below is the official
Reigning Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre and former Strikeforce and Elite XC champ Jake Shields will headline the landmark UFC 129 fight card, set to take place April 30th from the sold-out Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The co-main event will feature a Featherweight title clash between division champ Jose Aldo and challenger Mark Hominick, while the legendary Randy Couture will go head to head with top Light Heavyweight contender Lyoto Machida.
Uh-oh, we bet somebody is going to get their Twitter in a bunch over this: Former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Muhammed “King Mo”…
It appears Middleweights Chris Leben and Wanderei Silva will get what they’ve been asking for, as the two are now set to meet at UFC 132 in July. The match-up was announced Monday via UFC.com. Talks of the two sluggers meeting first began following Leben’s impressive submission victory over Yoshirio Akiyama at UFC 116. Afterward, “The Crippler” asked for a shot at Silva, whom he had stepped in for when an injury forced the Brazilian out of the bout with Akiyama just two weeks ahead of the match-up.
The sport of Mixed Martial Arts has seen many great fighters and champions come and go, but only a few have cemented a legacy for the ages. I have selected five fighters, from their own respective divisions, that have not only claimed a title but shaped the sport as well. I did not add the Featherweight or the Bantamweight divisions due to the fact that most casual fans are not aware of their existence, and the divisions are relativity new compared to the five major weight divisions.
