Former UFC lightweight star Roger ‘El Matador’ Huerta recently signed with Bellator Fighting Championships as a free agent. It has now been revealed that his first bout will take place in April against unbeaten fighter Chad Hinton. Hinton’s fights have all been under the Mid-west regional circuit and he has built up a record of 6-0 so he faces a real challenge in Huerta who holds a 6-2 record in the UFC including wins over Jason Dent, Leonard Garcia, Clay Guida and Doug Evans among others.

The second Bellator lightweight tournament is set to take begin on April 8th and will include Carey Vanier vs Janne Tulirinta, Pat Curran vs Mike Ricci, Ferrid Kheder vs Toby Imada(Imada holds the Bellator submission of the year 2009 with his inverted triangle on Jorge Masvidal) and the winner of the seaseon two tourney will face season one winner Eddie Alvarez.

Huerta who holds a record of 20-3-1 is by far the biggest name on the Bellator tournament list and he will hope to get back to winning ways after two straight losses in the UFC. A matchup between Alvarez and Huerta would provide fireworks, that is if Huerta wins the tournament.
