UFC on Fox 4 from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, is in the books and it has presented one of the most exciting cards in UFC history. Mauricio “Shogun” Rua fought Brandon Vera in another all-out war, extending his great legacy against an opponent who left every ounce of his being in the Octagon tonight. Rua utilized some good wrestling and top control, but his bread and butter came through in the striking department, as he landed many significant strikes with punches, kicks,
Next Saturday, Jose Aldo will put his title on the line against Chad Mendes. Their match headlines the UFC’s second foray into Brazil, after a wildly successful first show earlier this year. Jose, whose list of conquered foes contains Urijah Faber and Mike Brown, will be putting his title on the line for the fifth time.

What exactly is an elite striker and who should be considered an elite striker? I’ve thought about this for a long time prior to last Saturday’s UFC event. You hear this phrase thrown around so loosely in the world of Mixed Martial Arts. Now, I’m not comparing the sport of Mixed Martial Arts to other Combat Sports like Boxing or Muay Thai / K
