One Conclusion From UFC 123: Ed Soares should stay OUT of the ring.

Don’t know if you caught it, but right after the win announcement while Rampage was paying respects to Machida, Ed Soures, Machida’s manager, interrupted the moment by shaking his head and twice telling Jackson “that was bullsh*t man” and “we want a rematch.”  Jackson did not really respond and proceeded to the interview with Rogan.

Nothing says class like an overweight, loud-mouthed MMA NON-fighter coming in the ring where you just fought and bled and telling you the decision victory was “bullsh*t”.  Ed Soures has a great back story and an admirable resume of someone who went from selling T-shirts to managing UFC champions, but he’s been known to show his ass now and again.  He did it by letting Sonnen get under his skin by responding in kind to the trash talk leading up to the Silva/Sonnen bout, he also is said to have changed the interpretation of a fighters remarks every once in a while and now, with this brilliant show of sheer insult, he has the stones to get in Rampage’s face after a hard fought victory (and deserved in my opinion) and disrespect the former champion in the ring.  I cannot imagine respectable martial artists such as Silva and Machida appreciate these types of statements directed at a fighter coming from someone who represents them in MMA.

Maybe Ed can don some mits and go a few rounds, heck with anyone, before he confronts real fighters with that kind of ridiculous behavior.  But I doubt that will happen; we’re more likely to see him stuffing down a 5 stack at I-Hop.
