Luis Felipe Dias Turns Octagon Debut Into First-Round Beatdown Of Yi Sak Lee At UFC Macau
Luis Felipe Dias introduced himself to UFC fans with a thunderous first-round finish.
The Brazilian middleweight delivered a statement-making performance in his promotional debut, stopping Yi Sak Lee with a devastating first-round knockout while closing out the preliminary card at UFC Macau.
The fight began cautiously as both men spent the opening minute gauging distance and looking for openings. Dias was the first to find success, chopping at Lee’s lead leg with low kicks before gradually increasing the pressure.
Once the 31-year-old began letting his hands go, the momentum shifted dramatically.
Luis Felipe Dias repeatedly forced Lee onto the defensive and landed several heavy shots as he stalked his opponent around the cage. Midway through the round, a powerful hook sent the South Korean crashing to the canvas for the first time. Lee managed to beat the count and return to his feet, but Dias sensed the finish was within reach.
Moments later, he unleashed another crushing right hook that landed flush on the chin. The impact immediately dropped Lee for a second time, prompting referee Lukasz Bosacki to step in and wave off the contest at the 3:40 mark of Round 1.
Luis Felipe Dias earned his UFC contract with a second-round submission victory over Donavon Hedrick on Dana White’s Contender Series last October. The Brazilian now boasts a 17-6 professional record and is riding a four-fight winning streak.
