Looking to continue his newfound success at welterweight, former Strikeforce veteran Lorenz Larkin picked up a second straight impressive knockout when he pasted Brazilian Santiago Ponzinibbio in the co-main event of tonight’s (Sat., June 27, 2015) UFC Fight Night 70 from the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
Having lost only twice before, Ponzinibbio was a game challenger who pressed the pace on Larkin and landed several big shots. But it was the dangerous Muay Thai game of ‘Monsoon’ that soon took over. Slapping endless low kicks to bruise and batter his opponent’s lead leg, Larkin opened up with some monstrous punches that dropped Ponzinibbio and never stopped coming, leading to him eating far too many unnecessary shots before Herb Dean finally stopped the action.
