Jonathan Micallef Puts Oban Elliott to Sleep with Nasty Rear-Naked Choke – UFC 325 Highlights
Aussie standout Jonathan Micallef moved to 9-1 with an impressive second-round finish of Oban Elliott at UFC 325.
While Elliott outlanded his opponent 2-to-1, it was Micallef who landed the most significant shot of the first round, clipping Elliott with a right that knocked ‘The Welsh Gangster’ down. Elliott fought his way back into the bout and even drew some blood near Micallef’s right eye, leading many to wonder who actually won the round.
In the end, it wouldn’t matter.
As Elliott was finding the target early in the second, Micallef secured the first and only takedown of the fight, getting his man to the ground and immediately taking Elliott’s back. Before long, Micallef locked his arm under Elliott’s chin and started squeezing.
Despite his best efforts, Elliott couldn’t fight the grip and ultimately went to sleep, bringing a prompt end to the bout.
