How Jake Paul is Packing on the Pounds to Compete Against Boxing Great Anthony Joshua

Is Jake Paul Really a Fighter, or Just Playing One? Former UFC Champion Blasts the YouTube-Boxer

Jake Paul has spoken about how he’s physically preparing to step into the ring and face Anthony Joshua.

In just a few short weeks, Jake Paul will take on Anthony Joshua in a bizarre professional heavyweight boxing fight. Few people can quite believe that it’s actually happening, but it is – and you can bet it will wind up being one of the biggest combat sports events of the year.

Of course, nobody is really giving Jake Paul a chance, which hasn’t been the case for the majority of his boxing matches. Anything can happen in the ring, as we know, but given what Joshua was able to do to Francis Ngannou, a lot of fans and pundits are worried about Paul’s well-being, especially when you take the size difference into consideration.

In a recent interview, Jake Paul had the following to say about the preparations he is making in order to match up to someone of Joshua’s stature.

Jake Paul’s weigh strategy ahead of Anthony Joshua fight

“Man, I started eating more pasta, started gaining weight, less running, more weightlifting, bench press, squat. I feel like an NFL player getting ready to take on the big guys and bringing in heavyweights who we had to buy two commercial airline seats for because they can’t fit in one seat. So, sparring massive, massive guys, and just believing in myself. That’s all that matters.

“I’m ready to fight at all times. This is what we do it for: these big moments. You don’t get paid for sparring. You don’t get paid for hitting the licks in the gym. I want the big fights and the best people.”

Paul clearly knows that he’s getting himself into quite the situation here, and there are all kinds of accusations already being thrown around about the possibility of this fight being fixed. Regardless of whether or not you buy into that kind of thing, everyone can agree that this has the potential to go very wrong. Either way, Jake seems intent on going through with this, which should make for pretty interesting viewing in Miami.
