“He’s an Idiot” Jake Paul Takes Aim at Francis Ngannou After Declining Boxing Match
Jake Paul has taken a shot at Francis Ngannou for turning down the chance to fight him in a blockbuster boxing match.
In a couple of weeks, Jake Paul will go head to head with Anthony Joshua in a professional boxing showdown, live on Netflix. It’s the kind of fight that would have seemed absolutely unthinkable not so long ago, and yet, here we are. As you can imagine, many people are fearful that this could go very wrong indeed, especially given the performance that Joshua put in when he knocked out Francis Ngannou.
Speaking of Francis Ngannou, the story goes that ‘The Predator’ was also offered the opportunity to fight Jake Paul after the latter’s scheduled bout with Gervonta Davis fell through. Francis laughed off the idea of taking on ‘The Problem Child’, and suggested that he even felt disrespected.
As you can imagine, this got back to Jake Paul, who had the following to say on the matter.
Jake Paul goes after Francis Ngannou
“I just thought he’s an idiot. Like yo, what are you doing? If you’re so confident, if you feel so disrespected, having all this bad publicity about your name, this is an opportunity to correct that and stop me.
“He’s basically also talking [expletive] to Mike Tyson for fighting me, saying, ‘Francis, you’re nowhere near the legend, and you never will be even close to the legend of Mike Tyson.’ You’re saying it’s disrespectful to get in the ring. Thank you guys. You’re going to have a new name after the fight: the big upset, baby.”
Ngannou has done some incredible things throughout the course of his career, including dropping Tyson Fury when he took on the former heavyweight champion in his initial venture into professional boxing. He also has a remarkable record in mixed martial arts, which is something that is often overlooked given how his tenure with the UFC ended.
For Paul, it’s all about making money and trying to prove himself to the world. Wtih Joshua, however, he may well have bitten off more than he can chew. Either way, we will find out soon enough.
