Galvao vs Nogueira announced for Bellator 73

Bellator Fighting Championships has announced that a bantamweight fight between Marcos Galvao (12-5-1 MMA, 3-2 BFC) and Luis Nogueira (14-2 MMA, 4-1 BFC) will take place on August 24 at Bellator 73, the conclusion of the promotion’s “Summer Series”. The winner of this bout will go on to face Eduardo Dantas (14-2 MMA, 4-0 BFC) for the title.

Galvao is coming in off back-to-back wins over Travis Marx and Ed West in the tournament’s first two rounds. Nogueira is coming in from a three fight winning streak of his own, including a decision over Olympic Bronze Medalist Alexis Vila and a KO victory at Bellator 70 over Hiroshi Nakamura. Nogueira lost tot Dantas in 2008 with “Shooto Brasil”,

Bellator executives have yet to officially announce the location and venue of the card, which joins a title fight between Featherweight Champion Pat Curran (17-4 MMA, 7-1 BFC) and season-four tournament winner Patricio “Pitbull” Freire (17-1 MMA, 5-1 BFC). The main card will be broadcast on MTV2.
