Daniel Cormier Says Jon Jones Is Lying: “You Can Go To Bed At Night With An Enemy”
Daniel Cormier has once more labelled his arch-rival Jon Jones a liar, and their legendary UFC rivalry lives on, even after both fighters have retired.
Earlier this year, Jones and Cormier got another chance to renew their rivalry while serving as opposing head coaches on ALF Reality.
During the filming of the show, “Bones” and “DC” spent a lot of time on the set, during which Jones alleged he was willing to bury the hatchet with Cormier, but the former UFC double champion had no interest in resolving matters or becoming friends.
Recently, Jones, during a sit-down with ALF Global, alleged that Daniel Cormier told him he does not hate him, but when the cameras are on, Cormier wants to make the world and fans believe he still despises “Bones” as their rivalry has made “DC” a ton of money. Jones said:
“I attempted to create some sort of a positive relationship with him [Daniel Cormier] multiple times throughout the TV show. One time we were sitting down on the couch together and I said, ‘Isn’t this nice for us to just sit here, no problems, just enjoying the moment?’ He goes, ‘Yeah, this is nice, but Jon being your enemy has made me too much money over the years. So even though I have no problem with you, when the cameras turn on I can never be your friend in front of people. People thinking that we hate each other is very lucrative to me, and I want it to be like this.'”
“And I said, ‘Ok, alright, cool. ‘But I respect him for telling me that he actually doesn’t hate me. To him, there’s a part of it that’s business. There’s probably another side inside of him where I’ll never be his favourite person because I beat him in a time where he was considered one of the greatest fighters on the planet.”
Daniel Cormier exposes Jon Jones
Responding to Jon Jones‘ comments posted above, Daniel Cormier, in a recent YouTube video on his channel, stressed that Jones is his enemy “all the time” and he’s never told “Bones” privately that he doesn’t hate him but has to pretend that he does when the cameras are on so that their legendary rivalry lives on. “DC” quipped:
“We never had that conversation where I sat down with him [Jon Jones] and said, ‘When the cameras are rolling, you’re my enemy.’ He’s just my enemy all the time. It is what it is, and that’s okay… You can go to bed at night with an enemy. You don’t need the happy fairytale ending… I am a grown man… Jon Jones, I do still hate you and I always will.”
