Daniel Cormier encourages UFC President Dana White to book him in a fight against Brock Lesnar. For almost a year, the Las Vegas-based promotion has been trying to make this fight work.

However, it now appears that this fight will actually take place. Lesnar finished up with the WWE for the time being as he lost the WWE Universal Title to Seth Rollins at Sunday’s WrestleMania 35 pay-per-view event.

As of this writing, he’s not scheduled to appear on any shows in the near future. Thus, it leaves a possible return to the UFC wide open.

Just last week, it was reported that the UFC is planning to book the fight in August. That means it would be Cormier’s next title defense as the UFC heavyweight champion. It appears this fight could take place at the upcoming UFC 240 pay-per-view event, which has yet to have a location or date announced.

While doing a recent interview, the UFC heavyweight champion doubled down on wanting to fight Lesnar.

“It’s the fight I want,” Cormier tells TMZ Sports…“I think everyone wants to fight Brock. We all want to fight Brock.” He added, “It’s the fight. That’s the fight that needs to happen. You know, he’s a former UFC champ, All-American in college. This guy’s very, very deserving of a fight, and he’s gonna get it. Hopefully.”

“Dana get on the phone right now. If you haven’t called him yet, do it today!! What are you waiting for?! Get this sh*t on the books. Let’s get this on the books!!”
